A mysterious object that appears in the night sky and is seen over Los Angeles on Saturday was spotted by a NASA employee in the Pacific Ocean.
The object, which appeared to be a small meteorite, was spotted from the International Space Station by the Expedition 45 crew, according to NASA officials.
The agency said it has been tracking the object since July.
The agency did not provide a description of the object or say where it was spotted.
A NASA spokeswoman told ABC News on Sunday that the agency’s Earth observation team observed the object from space on Saturday evening, but did not see it until after the sun set.
The spokeswoman, Jennifer Grunsfeld, said the agency does not comment on individual observations.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
